Undermanned Palestine 

Fill-ins: Noureddine Oulid (L) & Tamer Salah

The big story for Palestine is the number of absences in the squad. Most prominently, manager Abdel Nasser Barakat had to travel back to Palestine unexpectedly to tend to a family emergency leaving managerial duties to his Algerian assistant Nourredine Oulid. 

Several big names will be missing on the pitch as well. Mahmoud Eid, Ahmad Awad, and Carlos Salom couldn't make the trip as all three had matches on the weekend and there was not enough time to travel and recuperate for the game. Jaka Ihbeisheh- perhaps the team's most consistent player- is also missing after being granted an excused absence. Matias Jadue and Haitham Dheeb will miss out through injury. 

The national team is still without its captain, Abdelatif Bahdari who is working his way back to fitness with his new club side Tale'a El-Geish in Egypt. Tamer Salah is expected to captain the side in his absence. 

Three Palestinians Abroad

Islam Batran (Wadi Degla/EGY), Yashir Pinto Islame (Melaka United/MAS), Jonathan Cantillana (Kuala Lumpur/MAS) are the only three player plying their trade abroad included in the final list of players. Batran is still awaiting his first senior cap and should receive it in Dushanbe after settling in well with Wadi Degla.
